‘Greater Kashmir’ has been very vociferous and lop sided in its reporting on the issue of Stray Dogs with every single ‘report’ ending with the same line allegedly quoted from a judge on the PIL ‘Will sterilized dogs stop biting’. Behind its thinly veiled reporting is the propaganda calling for the continuation of the Kashmiri ‘tradition’ of poisoning dogs to manage numbers. The publication is now running an open forum where people can suggest what they’d like to do with stray dogs, and you can guess the responses. What ‘Greater Kashmir’ has consistently lacked and actively resisted isRead More
If one had a choice between action and words, especially the ones that get printed, we know where this one lies. The animals, well they stay where they are for the most part. Out. The cruelty perpetrated on Bangalore’s dogs by an inefficient BBMP babudom and several insincere AWO’s participating in the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program – has been covered many many times on this publication. The widespread but poorly managed ABC program causes unthinkable cruelty on Bangalore’s dogs – with poor surgical practices and horrible tagging and drop practices. One of our contributors reports on a litter of 4 puppies he has been feeding  near his workplace. Yesterday he met their mom – an ABC dog! As you can see from the photographs her ears are clipped with theRead More

The situation does not get any better in the last few days with these new pictures coming from the ground in Gujarat. A commentary is not being provided since enough has been said on the blasé attitude of this and other municipal corporations & Animal Welfare Organizations (AWOs). She is not the first dog in Surat or a victim of the CNVR surgery. In Bangalore we’ve seenRead More
